Today marks the fourth anniversary of our book Working Backwards. Colin Bryar and I spent more than a year writing this book. We worked closely with our former colleagues and leaders at Amazon to make sure that we accurately recounted meaningful historical events, and how Amazon developed a series of scalable management processes that have become a significant contribution to management science.
Our primary motivation for writing the book was to document these processes and pass them on to the next generation of leaders. The results have exceeded our expectations as the book has become a global bestseller, which has been translated into 16 languages.
This is enabled Colin and I to work with more than 50 companies around the world from Baku to Bogota. It has been some of the most fulfilling work of our careers and we are grateful for all the support.
