Jeff Bezos once said that switching from PowerPoint to writing narrative documents was one of the best decisions Amazon ever made.
Today I work with companies to help them implement this and other Amazon best practices. The biggest impediment to making this change is the fear of not being able to write well.
The best and only remedy for this is to get started, and write regularly.
The first narrative documents at Amazon were not good. But they got better quickly once we all started to write regularly and instill a culture of review, revision and improvement.
